Here are some simple suggestions for things we can do that are ecologically beneficial (please let me know if you have any comments). **************************************************************************** 1. Plant a tree or maybe even better yet find the trees that grow in your yard and help them stay alive and grow bigger and stronger. 2. Be aware of how you use plastic - it comes from oil so it should be considered a "precious resource" - much plastic is wasted today and this needs to stop -- don't you think???? 3. What i said about plastic holds true for so many other resources. These resources come from the planet so they should belong to all of us, but they are being wasted for the sake of a few's profit. This is not fair. Waste not want not - isn't that what someone once said...... 4. Instead of using powered yard/lawn equipment learn how to use a broom, a rake, and/or a push mower. Not only will you get good exercise, you also will not be using electricity or burning any fuel. Plus the noise is so much less. I should add that I have been doing this for about the past year now and I am amazed at how good of a sweeper/raker I have become. Also, try to landscape your yard so that some or all of it is allowed to just grow naturally. 5. If possible start a compost bin. There are many ways of doing this and I can post some links if folks are interested. I have a had a bin going now for some time and waste has decreased, we get nice compost for fertilizing, and it is a real workout to get into the bin and mix everything up. 6. Walk or get a bike for getting around whenever feasible. Communities should be designed with this in mind. Minimize car usage. 7. Reuse things creatively. Avoid "disposable" items as much as possible. 8. Take a walk in your neighborhood and appreciate nature. 9. Get in the dirt and plant something. I know it helps me feel more connected when I'm doing something in the garden or just walking about the yard. 10. Reduce (or eliminate) consumption of meat. If worldwide meat consumption was reduced there would be more grains available for feeding people and more land available for growing plants. On a large scale this could make a big difference. Maybe I should add that these are suggestions/goals and may make more or less sense for you individually depending on where you live and your personal circumstances. I admit sometimes I think I could do better (I would like to be able to get around without a car at all, but just now, this is not a feasible option for me...). Anyhow, I am going to strive to do the best I can "ecologically" and I hope you consider this also.....small things can add up and grow into a "wonderful movement". And now, let me leave you with a poem of sorts: If someone wants to plant a tree, they should be able to do this for free (no money).
As the Plains need the Buffalo to be healthy, so do People desperately need Trees to be healthy -- for the People and the Trees !!!!

FLASH: (11/1/07): Have you all seen that "Noel" storm. No big deal i guess, but let me ask you a question: Do you know about the "Gulf Stream" --- a "warm river of water" within the Ocean???? Do ya? U might ask - what is your point? Well let me tell you one of them (the points). One point is there are some delicately balanced global "ecosystems" that can be easily perturbed (or you might say "disturbed"). For example, did you know that the oceans hold 50 times more CO2 (a.k.a. "carbon dioxide") than the atmosphere (air)....at least i read that somewhere. Anyhow, if just a bit of that CO2 in the oceans got into the air, it would make a big difference for the air "not just a bit" - you know what i mean? No, well let me add then....for the air ---- it would be a real big deal, or at least a big change. Anyhow, let me show with math: Simplified Hypothetical Example: Start: Ocean: 50 CO2 "units" Air: 1 CO2 "unit" Change: Ocean: Lose one unit. Result: Ocean: 49 units (2% drop) Air: 2 units (a 100% increase - "double the trouble"). Conclusion: When it comes to CO2, small changes in the ocean's concentration can make big changes in the air's concentration. If humanity is all about the killing, then "love" will rid the earth of humanity. For many generations now, humanity has been a big goofy family killing ourselves because of our parent's feuds, fabricating doods, posturing prudes, petty egos, foolish followers, outright denial, and selfish treasure hoarding criminals & thieves who want it all for themselves. Nothing is getting done, but the clock keeps ticking. Makes us seem like a species that is dumber than fungus; dumber than grass; dumber than all the rest of life. Can't we do better? The risk is of such immense consequence for humanity. Ain't this obvious? So what are we waiting for. Folks we have all got to put our collective heads together and develop a global plan. It will involve BIG changes in our daily lives, but you know what....it will feel good to work together towards restoring balance. It will be good for all of us. I know we can do it if we choose to. I am going to do my part -- will you do yours? ************************************************* Personal News - October 18, 2007 This morning at around 8:00 am after months of on and off pain, I finally extracted a 3/4" piece of drill bit that had pierced into and then broken off in the back of my heel this past May when I was moving a bit too fast doing some work at my mom's house while I was wearing sandals. Anyhow, my body slowly pushed the piece of bit through my heel towards the front of my foot. I knew something was there, but I was biding my time. For the last week or so it has been close to the surface and I've been digging around. Finally this morning using a needle and tweezers I was able to extract it. I won't lie to you, I didn't think there was that much in there and just after I pulled it out i felt like crying for joy. This experience has taught me two things: (1) the body is amazing; and (2) if you have to keep on your toes (rather than your heel) you can. Don't they say that adversity helps build character - now I feel much more capable because I have gotten through this small personal struggle all on my own. Peace -- Ken.
Ok, anyhow in celebration of a new balance, today (9/23 - fall equinox) I've decided to conduct a serious web-cleaning so that my site is not so full of so many things as to make it unnavigable. How have we gotten to this moment in time. Why People? Why? Why do those presently in "charge" have no empathy? Why are so many still trying to take away choice. This hateful behavior only perpetuates suffering of innocence. I root for the defenders and cheer for them too. If someone came to where I reside and tried to tell me what to do and steal things from the neighborhood, I'd defend to the death and would return fire with fire or electricity or wind or whatever was at my disposal. I would use "homefield" advantage however I could. History has shown that if you do not defend your place there are some offenders who will kill you without giving it a second thought. I wonder if they think it is their destiny to be killers? This makes no sense at all. Will these killers ever learn and change their ways or will they eventually just need to be killed off themselves for the sake of life? Is humanity collectively nothing but a killer species whose value is rapidly diminishing? Sometimes I wonder. Let me ask you this - the individuals, your relatives, the past immigrants who came to this "New World" --- most of them were trying to escape from a few so-called "nobility and such" who were causing them to toil and suffer just to survive. Such was the case with my relatives on both sides. So why, WHY??????, are the so-called leaders in this country now responsible for doing the same thing on a global scale - causing needless toil and suffering? Isn't there some sort of "golden rule". Do onto to others as you would have them do to you? It seems to me that for many this golden rule is only a rule of convenience. For many when they are blessed with bounty they apparently conclude the rule no longer applies. Or perhaps they think that because they have bounty they suddenly know better. They think they are superior. They think to be "fit" means to kill and steal, but I say "Mutual Aid" is true fitness and will prevail. This country has been on the wrong path for some time now. We've become what our ancestors tried to escape. It is going to be doomed unless we get inwit mighty soon. We so need to learn collectively because time is of the essence. We need Mutual Aid for the benefit of everyone rather than constant clawing and scratching just to get by for the benefit of only a few. The so-called nobility are just imaginary. We are all related. We are all connected. I would not want to be an offender. I would not want to be with the offenders. Leave if you are. Quit. Quit offending. It is time for something better. It is time for love. Ain't this ridiculously obvious. Time is running OUT for humanity. Most of the life on earth is probably happy. Kind of sad because we really could have fit in incredibly...the things we would have learned together...oh, i can imagine. I have good imagination. Sorry that the note has been "left-off" this way. Not much more to say. Sad again because as a dreaming engineer i love building and putting things together. Guess maybe i'll never get the chance. Oh well, sometimes that is how it goes. Maybe i'm wrong though. I don't care. I'll just take things as they come. I have learned to have much patience. I have learned what i can do and what i choose not to do. I'm learning all the time. All i can say is: if you aren't going to help you better get out of our way. Stronger, much stronger forces are now in play. Can't you sense em? I can. Sometimes it seems as if they are flowing through me, and being that "my time" has already stopped twice, I've learned to let it flow. Nothing, not even nothing, can break me again. Been there , done that. Never again. I will not be taken away against my will. My will will prevail for me. My will will be even if you kill me. It will be and it will go on. Same is true for everyone else, so I'd encourage you to be peaceful towards others and life in general in all of your daily actions. For the sake of humanity, we've got to do something about bad intent of a few who somehow think they are superior and know better than the rest of us. Puh. You make me throw up. I'm so sick of your righteous spew. You selfish fools. Quit trying to tell others how to live. Mind your own damn business why don't ya.

Idea to be freely shared: Reality in US of "A" should be: Impeachment So go to the THOMAS government website (LINK) . Search for, find & print out the Kucinich impeachment RESOLUTION (H.Res. 333). What we are supposed to have is a house of representatives in DC who do the People's will. If this is so then onward impeachment will go...don't ya think? If this is not so, then say "by-by" to DC because diminishment will be swift and thorough...don't ya think? Is it possible that folks picked out from different parts of the country can care about where they live and those around them more then what "party" they belong to or where the money is coming from? I don't know, but i think we are going to find out real soon. Sad Addendum I wish I wasn't typing (12/26/07): Well, sadly this has gone as I expected. Nothing for us is what we have gotten. Nothing but fluff. Nothing from Congress. Nothing from Judicial. And of course, nothing from the pathetic, inhumane tinkerers of nothing in the so-called Executive. Nothing begets nothing and nothing becomes nothing. It is self-fulfilling. Good-bye nothing. Don't worry though - you never really existed in the first place. Well, DC will for sure reap what is sows and they have sown a magnificent storm of doom for the fed in DC. The fed in DC is approaching the real nothing. Good riddance is what I say, because the fed in DC has been nothing but trouble for most of us. Glad that I'm on the outside looking in because I sure wouldn't want to be part of the made up federal government of filth. If I was working for the government, I'd quit. Who wants to be part of a foul sinking corporate ship. A corporate ship of plundering and carnage will get what it has been giving. Don't you think? I do. Hope it doesn't have to go down too hard, but what has to happen has to happen....if you know what I mean and if you know what I know. These "high-up" DC government individuals seem to have no idea and don't realize that their imaginary fantasy world is about to come to an abrupt end. They might be telling their own story, but they sure as hell are not telling mine. Nope. Everyone tells their own story. Seems that way to me. Seems like DC's story has been no good for humanity. Honestly I'm just giving an objective opinion. Too bad because impeachment offered an opportunity, but weakness and self-interest is prevalent in the made up federal city of DC. Weakness and foulness, greed, and malice and completely empty of empathy. Thats what the high-up DC folks are. They think: "all for them, but nothing for you and me". Sorry, but I ain't interested in nothing. I want a government that stands for something and this has been going on for far too long. Good by fed DC. Good riddance. If I were you I wouldn't look back. Earlier Thoughts -- May 9, 2007 I've been thinking quite a bit lately about wastewater treatment plants and landfills. Basically they are very important and I think each neighborhood should have their own so that we are aware of our waste and minimize it as much as possible and "take care" of any that is left over appropriately. Also, I think there are many good things (including "bugs" of vast value) that could be "mined and/or discovered" from landfills/wastewater treatment plants. (11/25/07): I want to add something here - i read somewhere (i think at the common dreams site) someone saying "we have to stop putting our doo-doo" in the water. This makes sense to me. The water would be much easier to clean without the poop and we could eventually turn that poop into some decent fertilizer (of course careful design and care is necessary, but this could be done...). Discovery (at least for me) -- May 2, 2007 So it turns out that I have registered a domain name as follows: "co2-trading.info". It is ironic because not only can co2 be traded, but so can "co2-trading.info". Wow, who'da thunk. Thought -- When innocence suffers, karma will "wrap around" the offensive perpetuators of sufference. Woe upon those who cause widespread suffering of innocence and woe upon those who believe widespread suffering is "necessary" for the "unbelievers". Do you think you are superior to others? The US Constitution needs to include more specific provisions with respect to "Media" and "Transportation". For both of these, I submit that there needs to be recognition that they belong to "the People/s". Thought -- The roots/branches of a tree and human blood vessels share many attributes in form. Could this be a coincidence (most unlikely). This form is ubiquitous because it is so life-affirming. Small to large. Large to small. All for one. One for all. We are all connected but there a few amongst us who do not recognize this and they persist with psuedo-ego-based-resistance to the reality....they try to "dumb-down the citizenry" for their own selfish ends. No matter, their effort is futile in so many ways.....lets just keep it from being futile for all of us -- the sooner the better. OLDER ANNOUNMENT: Today, June 30, 2007, I, Ken, have decided to fill in the paperwork to change my "party affiliation" to GREEN. In my "former life" I filled in a lot of "forms", but it was always for someone else. This time the forms were for myself, so I put a bit of artwork on the paperwork for the fun of it. I put my ideas outhere (out there) & dare....... would love to have a debate........... Who's willing???? OK - Possible First Debate Topic: Do we even need a federal executive branch? In this age of "computer communication", the need for an executive is diminished. We can communicate so rapidly and this communication could be so effective (if we want it to be), that some sort of single entity for making critical decisions is no longer necessary. In fact, it is a huge risk for disproportional power to be concentrated which historically has not been in the interest of the People. This is why we need to do away with the executive (in my opinion). Here is my plan as succintly as I can state it (it is just my plan and there are many other plans out there for sure): 1. Convict, Convict, Convict, Convict............(don't we need this for some justice ??? - i think so, but it can be tricky to find out who is behind what -- ya know --- but there is evidence out there....there always is.....the best evidence is easily agreed upon because once it is laid out it is so obvious for all to see....) 2. Call Constitutional Convention. Congress must be changed because congress is broke (it seems that way to me....). 3. Dismiss the Executive branch. It is too problematic for these times. Figureheads for ceremonies and such can be established. That is the fun part anyhow. 4. I advocate a Confederacy of States. See link referenced in home page regarding a "People's Proclamation". (Note: Please do not be "deterred" by that "Confederacy" word - its meaning goes deeper than the current connotation....in my opinion it does, but again, this is just my opinion) 5. I advocate a minimal active military located in bases within the US - perhaps nothing more than what our National Guard is supposed to be. Defensive in nature and able to provide assistance as needed for natural disasters. (Note: This is a real "duh" note, so maybe i shouldn't even say it, but doesn't it generally feel "good" to provide assistance - everyone benefits when there is good will..) 6. I advocate a market system that emulates many of Adam Smith’s original concepts for fair trade. We are not even close to this (see David Korten’s, “The Post Corporate World” for additional detail). Corporate "personhood" as a concept needs to be abolished because it makes no sense and is perhaps one of the root causes of ongoing, needless, and widespread suffering of innocence. 7. I advocate ongoing minimilization of any central and federal government plus there needs to be a new reserve created that is in the interest of the People. Let the central government's sole purpose be one of facilitating ongoing peace amonst the People -- ALL PEOPLE. 8. I advocate a worldwide effort to begin truly working together to find solutions for the many unprecedented ecological inbalances that we now are confronted with and for which we can not wait any longer to start addressing… 9. I advocate governance at the most local level possible with a focus on making sure that everyone's basic needs (shelter, sustanance, free access to good health, etc.) are provided. It is in the interest of everyone that this be the case, and i think the infrastructure for this could be rapidly put in place. 10.
